Tim has really been practicing hard this summer. Today, we recorded an exercise called "Major Blues" from the "Blues You Can Use" book that Tim has been working on. Click on the play button on the mp3 player at the top right to hear it. Excellent work, Tim.

This was Kira's second lesson. Instead of using the usual acronym (Every Average Dog Gets Bitten Easily) to learn the names of the strings, Kira made up her own: Evil Amps Destroy Garbage Beer Electricity. I think it's working! Tonight, we worked on the warm up exercise with the metronome, rhythms, the C major scale and the E, A and D chords. We finished off with "Good Riddance" by Green Day. It was all sounding pretty good to me.
Getting Back Into The Groove
Well, the website is coming up on it's first birthday. It's been a lot of work but a lot of fun as well. I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have. As you may have noticed, I've recently added music to the page (*note* If you click on the little arrow above the song title, you will see the complete list of songs). I'm always looking for cool new things to make the site even better. I'm really looking forward to the fall. I've got a lot of stuff planned. I will be continuing to offer my It Came From The Garage! rock band course. This session will last twelve weeks, with a big final show at the beginning of December. If you are interested, please let me know. As well, I would like to start a jam club that meets once or twice a month. All students will be welcome. We will get together and jam for two hours (7-9 PM) on Wednesday nights. Please email me at itcamefromthegarage@gmail.com if you are interested in participating. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
